Learn how just you can use the 3 golden shutter speeds that you'll use 90% of the time

These shutter speeds are the ones you'll use the most.

1/60 – 1/125 – 1/250

I call these the golden area. Here is why:

1/60 – this is the slowest shutter speed you should use handheld. Anything below needs a tripod. When it's low light, this is the choice as it will let in the most amount of light before the camera shake occurs.

1/125 – This is in the middle of the three shutter speeds and is used for day to day photography, and as you progress, it's also the sync speed for ash photography. It's fast enough to capture 80% of what you will photograph. Note if you use a long lens, e.g. 200mm, then 1/250 should be the day to day use speed due to light having to travel further.

1/250 – The fastest shutter speed of the three. This is the minimum shutter speed you should use for sport and wildlife. The faster the shutter speed, the more movement will be frozen. If you take a picture and it's still blurry at this speed, you need to increase it more to say 1/500.
